TL;DR

We don't sell your data. We don't ask you to create an account. We use basic analytics to see which pages people read, and we use affiliate links that may reward us if you sign up for an exchange through one. That's it.

Who we are

CryptoCompare ("we", "us", "the site") is an independent editorial website that reviews and compares cryptocurrency exchanges. We are not a broker, exchange, or financial services company. We don't hold customer funds and don't process trades.

What we collect

Anonymous analytics: page views, referrer URL, country-level location, device type, browser type, and time on page. We use this to understand which content is useful and what to improve. We do not collect names, email addresses, or precise location.
Affiliate click data: when you click an exchange link, the destination exchange may log that the referral came from us. We receive aggregate reports (counts of clicks and signups) — not your identity.
Server logs: our hosting provider (Vercel) logs basic request information for security and abuse prevention, typically retained for a short window.

What we don't collect

Account logins — there are none.
Email addresses — we don't have a newsletter signup.
Wallet addresses or transaction history.
Payment information — we never handle payments directly.
Government ID or KYC documents — that happens on the exchange, not here.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

Analytics cookies to count unique visitors (not to identify you personally).
Affiliate cookies set by exchanges when you click through to them — these are governed by the exchange's own privacy policy, not ours.

You can block cookies in your browser settings. The site will continue to work normally.

Affiliate links

Several links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up for an exchange through one of our links, the exchange may pay us a referral commission. This never increases your cost. Affiliate relationships do not influence our rankings — see our methodology for how rankings are calculated.

Third parties we rely on

Vercel — hosts the site and serves content.
Impact.com and similar affiliate networks — track referrals to partner exchanges.
Search engines (Google, Bing) — we submit sitemaps to them; they crawl public pages exactly as any visitor would.

Your rights

Because we don't store personal data tied to you, there's usually nothing to request, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold data about you and want it removed, email us and we'll handle it within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 18. Crypto trading is restricted to adults in almost every jurisdiction. If you're under 18, please don't use exchange services linked from here.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be called out on the homepage for at least 30 days.
