Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance

By using CryptoCompare, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. These terms may be updated; continued use means you accept the latest version.

2. Educational content, not financial advice

Everything on CryptoCompare is published for general educational purposes. Nothing here is personal financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

We compare exchanges and explain how crypto products work. We do not know your financial situation, risk tolerance, tax bracket, or goals. Before making any crypto decision, consider consulting a licensed financial advisor in your jurisdiction.

3. Crypto is risky

Cryptocurrency prices are highly volatile. You can lose some or all of the money you invest. Leveraged or margin trading can result in losses exceeding your initial deposit. Exchanges can be hacked, frozen, or go bankrupt. Smart contracts can contain bugs. Keys can be lost. You trade at your own risk.

4. Accuracy and timeliness

We work hard to keep fee tables, feature lists, and exchange data accurate and current. But exchanges change their terms frequently. Always verify the current fee schedule, product availability, and regulatory status on the exchange's own website before trading. If you spot an error on our site, let us know.

5. Affiliate disclosure

Many outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you click through and sign up or trade, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This supports the site. Commercial relationships do not influence our editorial rankings — see our methodology. Read more in our Privacy Policy.

6. Your relationship with exchanges

When you click through to an exchange and open an account, your relationship is with that exchange. Their terms of service, privacy policy, KYC requirements, and dispute resolution apply. We are not a party to your account or your trades. We can't help recover lost funds, reverse transactions, or dispute exchange decisions.

7. Regulatory status

Crypto regulations vary widely by country and by state/province. We flag broad US availability on exchange listings, but these details change. It is your responsibility to verify that a given exchange and product is legally available where you live before using it.

8. Intellectual property

Content on this site (writing, rankings, original graphics) is owned by CryptoCompare. You may link to pages and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not scrape, republish, or re-package substantial portions of the site without written permission. Exchange names and logos are property of their respective owners.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CryptoCompare is not liable for trading losses, missed opportunities, exchange outages, lost keys, hacks, or any other damages arising from decisions made using information from this site. The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

10. Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • Scrape the site programmatically without permission.
  • Attempt to exploit, overload, or attack the site.
  • Use our content to build a competing aggregator without license.
  • Misrepresent our rankings or put words in our mouth.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.
